HFL


High Flood Level or HFL that was reached on 22nd September, 1908 when the Musi river broke its banks. It was one of the biggest clamities that struck the street that led to the redesigning of the drainage in and around the city, the building of the tanks that controlled the waters and with the help of Dr M Vishveshwariah from neighbouring Mysore.




This was the Masiamma temple which is fortified and now taken over by right wing upper caste supremacist groups.
