Telephone Bhavan Road

Interesting cover designs from the last century and much more to discover at this bookstall in the heart of Hyderabad. Was thrilled to see a sticker of Gangarams, Bangalore.

Swami Vivekananda seems to be a popular genre in Hyderabad. Hitler isn’t. My friend and photographer Sriharsha Vadlamani feels that Swami Vivekananda books are bought but no one reads them.

The Telephone Bhavan / BSNL Bhavan is an interesting building in the Charles Correa Style and will remind you of the LIC building or Vishweshwariah Tower in Bangalore.

Don’t forget to have chai at any of the Hyderabadi tea joints in the area. We went to Tehran opposite the secretariat.

Tilak Road, Abids

The famous and endless Abids footpath bookmarket isn't probably as large as it used to be or the books are varied. But it survives. This was on a Sunday evening. The best time to visit in a Sunday Morning.
