It's common to see temples like these in the outskirts of Mysore City, usually among fields and next to irrigation tanks. They look abandoned but are used by the local farming communities during and after harvests for 'thanksgiving'.
But this one is apparently not one of them. This is one of the 'haunted' burial ground of the Mysore royal family.
